Fernando C. Amorsolo

Fernando C. Amorsolo or “The Maestro” is one of the most important artists in the history of Philippine art. He is recognized as the first individual to be awarded National Artist for visual arts in the country. Popularly known for his craftsmanship and mastery in the use of light in his paintings, he was a portraitist, and he also painted various rural landscapes of the Philippines.
